“This is at the end of a long process of cultivation, harvesting and storage. It’s the end of a cycle. I was happy despite the challenging season we had. It shows that I’m capable of being satisfied with myself. I need to take the time to value my actions and acknowledge their true worth.”

“These certificates are my reasons for getting up in the morning and milking the cows. I enjoy working with these beautiful cows that breed and perform well.

One day, I would like to become a master breeder. When my son graduated high school, at the graduation ceremony, he publicly expressed his desire to become a master breeder as well, without having discussed it with me beforehand. I thought to myself, “Okay, I don’t get in the morning up for nothing.” It’s encouraging to see that there’s another generation coming up with the same vision as mine.”

“I am a passionate person. I want to find balance, I enjoy it, but the biggest part of my life is my professional side. I have always loved to conduct projects and stepping out of my comfort zone enables me to grow. Every time I achieve something good, I feel content and it means I had to work on myself and my emotional skills at the same time, because managing such big projects can be quite stressful.

Executing a project is easy, but are we ready to assume the additional workload that comes with it? I never asked myself this question and it led to conflicts. Today, after everything I’ve experienced when we conduct a project, I prioritize the human aspect. Now, when a project comes to my mind, I discuss it with my team and ask them if they are willing.”

“Our business represents the main element that can generate positive mental health for me. I am a man proud of his achievements and proud of what his business has enabled him to achieve. It represents my pension fund. I must ensure it continues to improve, to guarantee a good retirement. I also need to make sure that the next generation understands what’s at stake and find ways to motivate them.”

“My desk is up to date, organized, it reflects my life, it’s my reference. I try to establish as much order as possible whether it’s my office, my home, my business and my mental space. Accounting isn’t my favourite thing and it’s always the task I procrastinate the most, but I think it’s important. I realized that when it’s up to date, everything else goes well and I feel balanced.”

“It’s wood from my father’s forest. When my father bought his land in the 50s to pursue his projects, he lumbered his forest from one end to the other, but he didn’t clear-cut it, he cleaned it up and now it’s grown back.

Going to work in the woods is a well-oiled system. We tackle the woods, we work hard but for some reason, there’s no stress. The forest is Zen despite all the noise we make. It’s a happy place, it’s as simple as that.”
